Passiro vs. CookieScript

More of the everyday work, handled from the start. Compare Passiro and CookieScript on free scanning, consent reporting and the cost of maintaining your websites.

Three ways Passiro gives you more

  1. Scan a useful business website on Free

Passiro Free checks up to 500 pages each month and includes unlimited visitors. CookieScript Free scans ten pages and has a traffic allowance. A small company can therefore get recurring scanning in Passiro without moving straight to a subscription.

  2. Understand consent without buying the top tier

Consent analytics and recent consent exports are included in Passiro Free. Use them to understand the banner’s performance and retrieve records. CookieScript places its analytics and consent-recording tools on Plus.

  3. Check for changes weekly

Pro brings weekly scanning and your own branding for €86 per year per domain or subdomain. Business raises the scan capacity to 5,000 pages. CookieScript’s scheduled scans are monthly, making scan frequency a practical Passiro advantage for websites that change regularly.

The free plans, side by side

Free-plan feature Passiro Free CookieScript Free
Ongoing free plan ✓ Yes ✓ Yes
Pages checked per scan ✓ Up to 500 Up to 10
Automatic monthly scan ✓ Included Paid feature
Custom colours ✓ Included Paid feature
Geo-targeting ✓ Included Paid feature
Consent analytics and recording ✓ Included Plus required
Google Consent Mode ✓ Included ✓ Included
Languages 25 ✓ 42
Traffic ✓ Unlimited visitors 10,000 monthly pageviews / script requests

Both green cells mean a shared capability. A higher limit receives its own highlight; CookieScript has the larger language count here. Its free traffic limit counts requests for the banner script, which is not the same metric as unique visitors.

Choose a plan around the work you need

Passiro lets a small site start with automated blocking, regional settings and a monthly scan, then move to Pro for weekly checks, its own logo and longer access to records. Choose Business for a larger catalogue, API access or a 36-month export window.

Requirement Passiro CookieScript
Regular scans on paid plans ✓ Weekly on Pro / Business Monthly on Standard / Plus
Scan capacity per website Pro: 750; Business: 5,000 Lite: 100; Standard: 1,000; Plus: 3,000
Geo-targeting on a suitable plan ✓ Included ✓ Included
Consent-record export ✓ Free: 30 days; Pro: 12 months; Business: 36 months ✓ Plus: CSV download; historical window needs confirmation
Flexible payment interval ✓ Monthly or annual Annual payment only
Current single-site annual prices Pro: €86; Business: €278 Lite: €108; Standard: €228; Plus: €348

An available export function is green for both. That is not a claim that their historical windows are identical. CookieScript’s public export guide explains the download process but does not establish the 12-month window needed by our larger examples.

What the four company profiles need

All profiles require automatic blocking, Consent Mode v2, consent analytics and at least monthly scanning of the listed pages. The service company accepts provider branding and needs 30 days of downloadable records. The other profiles require their own branding, geo-targeting and 12 months of exports.

Example Passiro annual cost CookieScript annual reference Requirement fit
Service company, 35 pages ✓ Free: €0 Plus, 1 site: €348 Confirm required 30-day export availability
B2B / SaaS, 500 pages ✓ Pro: €86 Plus, 1 site: €348 Confirm 12-month export window
Store, 4,000 pages ✓ Business: €278 Custom scope / price needed Standard Plus scan allowance is 3,000 pages
5 independent sites, 200 pages each ✓ 5 × Pro: €430 Plus, 5 sites: €888 Confirm export window and separate banner requirements

EUR, excluding VAT. Passiro figures are published annual prices with its advertised 20% discount. CookieScript figures use the current new-subscription pricing: monthly equivalents of €29 for one Plus site and €74 for five, paid for the year. Do not apply another annual discount. These are price references, not fully verified like-for-like savings: the export-window questions and store scanning scope still need confirmation.

For Passiro, the alternative monthly-payment totals are €0, €9, €29 and €45 respectively. CookieScript does not offer an equivalent monthly-payment option. Existing CookieScript subscriptions may retain earlier prices under the provider’s renewal terms.

  • Small service business

1 domain, no additional subdomains; 5,000 visitors and 15,000 pageviews a month; 35 pages. The owner wants the banner maintained automatically and needs visibility into consent choices. Passiro Free covers this without a subscription. On CookieScript, consent reporting leads the comparison towards Plus, not its entry paid plan.

  • B2B or SaaS business

1 domain; 25,000 visitors, 75,000 pageviews and 500 pages; at least two languages. Passiro Pro meets the scan, branding and 12-month export requirements at a published price. The CookieScript reference covers its listed analytics features and page allowance; confirm the historical export requirement before treating it as a complete match.

  • Webshop with a larger catalogue

1 domain; 200,000 visitors and 800,000 pageviews monthly; 4,000 pages to check. Passiro Business accommodates the full scan within its published 5,000-page allowance. Do not compare it with a CookieScript Plus package that would scan only part of the catalogue; request the scope and price for the full 4,000 pages.

  • Company with five independently managed websites

3 domains plus 2 subdomains; 200 pages, 10,000 visitors and 30,000 pageviews per site. Each website needs its own banner configuration and cookie report. That makes five Passiro subscriptions and a five-site CookieScript package relevant. Passiro’s total is €430 per year.

CookieScript can use one banner across subdomains when the banner and cookie report are shared. If that setup works for your company, fewer slots may be sufficient. Passiro charges separately for each domain and subdomain, so compare the actual installations rather than assuming both vendors count the same way.

The Passiro experience

  • Build a banner you recognise: edit the wording, colours and layout visually, then check the preview on smaller screens. Pro adds the logo and removes Passiro branding.

Passiro banner preview and styling controls
Preview a banner and adjust its appearance in Passiro.
  • Keep the cookie inventory current: use automatic scans and review the result when your marketing team adds a tool or changes a page. On-demand scans give paid accounts a way to check specific releases.

    Passiro Cookies Detected category controls
Review cookie categories in Cookies Detected before checking individual entries.
  • Keep reporting close to the banner: consent analytics, history and exports live alongside the configuration. Select a plan by the history you need to retain and the time range you need to download; they are not interchangeable limits.

Review consent statistics for the last 90 days in Passiro.

Why Passiro is the stronger starting point

The free plan already handles meaningful scanning and consent reporting. A growing company can add its own branding and weekly checks on Pro, while larger stores can choose a published 5,000-page scan allowance. You can budget around the websites you operate and select monthly or annual payment.

When might you stay with CookieScript?

Check an existing renewal price before changing it, and consider whether you depend on its wider language selection or a shared subdomain banner. Those are specific reasons to keep a configuration. For a fresh setup focused on recurring scans and accessible consent reporting, Passiro has a clear practical advantage.

Replacing a CookieScript installation

  1. Map the live banners. Include self-hosted scripts, subdomain sharing and any tag-manager installation so that nothing is left loading twice.

  2. Archive records and settings. Download the consent evidence you need and note language, cookie-report and regional settings. Keep that archive outside the new CMP.

  3. Build the Passiro version. Choose the correct plan per site, run a scan, recreate the banner and test script blocking and Google signals.

  4. Switch and check. Replace the old code, test accept/reject and later preference changes, then review the old subscription. Existing CookieScript consents are not imported; returning visitors choose again.

Questions worth settling before you move

Are CookieScript’s displayed monthly prices monthly invoices?

No. Its paid plans are billed annually. Use the annual total when budgeting; the smaller displayed number is a monthly equivalent.

Is a two-domain package still the minimum?

No. CookieScript introduced a one-domain option in September 2026. This comparison uses the updated structure, rather than the older two-domain minimum.

Can a 4,000-page store use the standard Plus scan allowance?

The published allowance is 3,000 pages. Confirm a larger scan arrangement before using it as a full-site comparison. Passiro Business includes up to 5,000 pages per scan.

Can I keep my consent history?

Retain an export from CookieScript before removing the account. Passiro collects new consent records after installation; it does not import the previous provider’s history.

Is A/B testing available now?

Passiro A/B tests remain coming soon for Business and Enterprise and are excluded from the advantages above.

Sources and pricing scope

Checked 21 October 2026. New-subscription list prices exclude VAT. Historical renewal prices, negotiated scan capacity and unverified export windows are not treated as comparable savings. Prices come from the updated pricing data and the September 2026 notice, rather than older static page snippets.
