Unlimited visitors and page-scan limits: two different things

Visitor numbers describe traffic to your website. A scan allowance describes how much of the website a cookie scanner checks, and how often.

A website can have many visitors and few pages, or many pages and modest traffic. The two numbers answer different questions, so compare them separately.

Traffic: how many people reach your website?

When you compare traffic allowances, check what the provider counts and whether the number changes your bill or the service. Visitors, visits and page views are not interchangeable terms.

More traffic means the banner is shown more often and more consent choices are recorded. It does not change how many pages need to be scanned.

Scan scope: how much of the website is checked?

A cookie scanner visits pages to find cookies and trackers. Its scope has three parts: how many pages one scan covers, how often automatic scans run and whether you can start extra scans yourself.

Pages per scan limits the size of one check, not the number of people who can see your banner. Frequency matters most when you often change pages, tags, advertising tools or integrations. On-demand scans let you check a change straight away instead of waiting for the next automatic scan.

Whatever the allowance, a scan reports what it detects on the pages it can reach. Content behind a login, tools that load only in certain regions and scripts that appear after an interaction, such as a checkout step or a chat, may need a separate manual check. The Support Center explains how to handle missing or incomplete scan results.

Two illustrative examples

These examples are illustrative; they are not scan results or customer cases.

Traffic grows, pages stay the same. A business website with 100 pages has a large seasonal rise in visitors. Its scanning need has not changed: the same 100 pages still need checking.

Pages grow, traffic stays the same. An online shop expands its catalogue from 300 to 2,000 pages while visitor numbers stay flat. The traffic allowance makes no difference here; pages per scan is what now matters.

Scanning allowances on each Passiro plan

Passiro plans differ in scan scope, not in traffic.

Visitors are unlimited on every plan, with no traffic-based fees.

In the second example, a 2,000-page catalogue is more than one Free or Pro scan covers. Business scans up to 5,000 pages, and Enterprise capacity is agreed around your requirements.

How to choose a scan allowance

Choose a page limit that covers the pages you need checked. Include every type of page that can load a different tool, such as product pages, landing pages and pages with embedded media or forms.

Then consider how often the website changes. A small website that changes every week may need more frequent scans than a larger website that rarely changes.

Review each scan alongside your own knowledge of the site, its tags and its integrations. Scanning supports that work; it does not establish compliance by itself. See how scanning works in Passiro, or compare the wider offer with our ten questions for choosing a free cookie banner.

Two questions about scanning

What if my website has more pages than my plan scans?

One scan checks up to your plan’s page limit, so pages beyond it are not included in that scan. Make sure the pages that load different tools are inside the scope, or compare a plan with a higher limit. More pages never create a traffic charge.

Can I choose which pages are scanned?

You can shape the scope. In Crawler Settings, set pages per scan within your plan’s limit and exclude paths you intentionally want to skip; excluded pages are not checked. See Adjust your crawler settings.

Compare the scanning you actually need.

Every plan includes unlimited visitors. Compare pages per scan, automatic scans and on-demand scans side by side.
