Consent history, lookup and exports: what should you compare?
Consent history, lookup and exports answer different questions: how long records remain available, how you find one and which records you can download. Compare them separately when you choose a plan.
What each term means
Each of these describes a different part of working with consent records:
- History period: how far back records remain available to you in Passiro.
- Dashboard view: the individual records and consent analytics you can see in your account.
- Lookup: finding a specific record by its consent ID.
- Export: downloading records from your plan’s export window as a file.
- API access: reading records from your own systems.
Volume is a separate question. Every plan includes unlimited consent records: there is no cap on how many choices are recorded, but that does not mean records stay available indefinitely or can all be exported.
History and export periods on each plan
| Plan | Consent history (up to) | Export window | API access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Consent history (up to)13 months | Export windowLast 30 days | API accessNot included |
| Pro | Consent history (up to)24 months | Export windowLast 12 months | API accessNot included |
| Business | Consent history (up to)36 months | Export windowLast 36 months | API accessIncluded |
| Enterprise | Consent history (up to)Custom | Export windowCustom | API accessIncluded |
Read the columns separately. Pro offers up to 24 months of history, but its exports cover the last 12 months; on Business, both periods are 36 months.
What the dashboard shows
Consent Records lists individual choices from within your plan’s history period, with the consent ID, timestamp, category choices and country. Statistics summarize the same choices as totals, acceptance rates and trends; they count consent records, not unique visitors. See consent analytics and records for an overview.
Looking up a single record
Lookup by consent ID is included on every plan. Enter the ID in the Consent Records search to check a specific choice, such as a test choice you made on your website.
On a busy website, the Consent Records list and its search cover the most recent records, and the dashboard tells you when it is showing only part of the history. Do not rely on lookup alone for older records: export what you need while it is inside your export window.
Exporting records
An export includes records from your plan’s export window only. A record can be inside the history period but outside the export window: on Free, a record from six weeks ago is within the 13-month history but not in a 30-day export.
Choose CSV for a spreadsheet, JSON for structured data or PDF for a readable report. Exports can contain visitor-related data, so check the date range and share the file only with people who need it. See Find and export consent records.
API access does not extend the periods
Business and Enterprise include API access to consent records and cookie data, so a developer can bring them into your own systems. Custom integrations are available on Enterprise by agreement.
API access does not extend your plan’s history period. If you only need a one-time copy of records, an export is simpler. See Access the Passiro API.
A record is part of the evidence
A consent record shows what a visitor chose and when. It does not replace checking the banner, the website configuration and what your tools actually do after each choice.
Questions about consent records
Is a longer history period always better?
No. The right period depends on your needs and the requirements that apply to you. A larger plan allowance is not an instruction to keep data longer than necessary.
Why is a test choice missing from Consent Records?
New records can take up to about an hour to appear. Check the date and search filters, then repeat one clear test choice in a fresh session. See Troubleshoot missing consent records.
Can a Free user look up and export a consent record from six months ago?
Export: No. Free exports cover the latest 30 days, so a record from six months ago is outside that window. Lookup: A 13-month history allowance does not guarantee that an older record can be found in the dashboard search. The search covers the most recent records, so an older record may be outside the searchable list. Export records you need while they are still within your plan’s export window.
