Understand cookie categories

Categories help visitors understand what they are agreeing to.

1. Look at the purpose

Necessary cookies typically support core functions such as security or keeping a shopping basket working. Preference cookies remember optional choices. Statistics cookies measure use, while marketing cookies support advertising. Use the category labels shown in your banner.

2. Review each service

Open the detected cookies and trackers for your website. Check the provider and purpose. A familiar cookie name alone is not enough to decide its category; compare it with the provider's documentation.

3. Check what visitors see

Open the banner settings and cookie declaration on your website. Make sure the descriptions are clear and match the services you actually use.

4. Resolve uncertain entries

If a purpose or classification is unclear, ask your website specialist or Passiro for help before relying on it. Do not label an optional tracker as necessary just to make it load.
