Keep consent up to date when adding a new tracking tool

Repeat these checks whenever you add or change a website plugin, tag or embedded service.

1. Identify the new service

Record its provider, purpose, pages and installation method. Check the provider's documentation for cookies, storage and consent requirements.

2. Review the consent setup

Check that the service fits the information visitors see in the banner and declaration. Ask your developer how it responds to each category choice, especially if it uses custom code.

3. Scan and test

Run a new website scan after deployment. Test the service in fresh sessions before consent, after rejection and after acceptance. Review actual requests as well as scan results.

4. Update and monitor

Update the visitor-facing information and resolve unexpected tracking. Keep a short record of the change and checks. Repeat the process after significant plugin, tag manager or website updates.
