Choosing a plan

Free cookie consent plan or free trial: what is the difference?

A free trial lets you use a product for a limited period. A lasting free plan lets you continue using the included features without a scheduled expiry. The right comparison is not simply whether the sign-up button says free, but what remains available after you get started.

The first question: when does the offer end?

Look for an explicit end date, trial period or automatic move to a paid subscription. If an offer is a trial, check what happens when the trial ends and whether payment details are required. If it is a free plan, check which features remain available and what conditions apply.

Passiro Free has no expiry date and does not require a credit card. It does not automatically become a paid subscription. That makes it a plan you can evaluate against your ongoing needs, rather than a countdown.

The second question: what does free actually include?

A banner alone is not the same as a broader set of consent tools. Compare the editor, scanning, records, analytics, script blocking and integrations. Check whether the functionality shown in a demo is included in the plan you intend to use.

Passiro Free includes the cookie banner, visual editor, automatic script blocking, Google Consent Mode v2, consent analytics and unlimited visitors. It also includes monthly automatic scans of up to 500 pages.

The third question: which limits matter?

Unlimited visitors does not mean unlimited everything. A plan can have no traffic limit while still limiting scanning capacity, scan frequency, retention and exports. These limits should be stated separately.

On Passiro Free, consent history is retained for up to 13 months and the export period covers the last 30 days. Those two numbers describe different capabilities. They should not be combined into a vague promise of unlimited records forever.

The fourth question: why would you pay?

A useful paid plan should solve a specific need. You may want your own logo, more frequent scans, larger scans, a longer record history or access to data through an API. Compare the benefit with the actual task you need to complete.

Passiro Pro leads with your own logo and removal of Passiro branding. Business leads with more scanning and control. Enterprise is built around agreed requirements. If the additions are not useful to you and Free meets your needs, there is no reason to treat an upgrade as inevitable.

Check before you choose

Confirm whether the free offer expires. Read the included features. Separate traffic from scanning allowances. Compare storage and export periods. Check currency and billing period before choosing a paid option. Finally, make sure the features you need are available now rather than marked Coming soon.

Questions about free plans

Can a lasting free plan have limits?

Yes. A plan can remain free indefinitely while limiting some features or allowances. Those limits should be clear before you sign up.

Does Passiro require a card for Free?

No. Passiro Free does not require a credit card.

Why can Passiro offer a Free plan?

Paid plans support the product. Customers pay for additional branding, scanning capacity and control, while businesses with simpler needs can stay on Free.
