Compare

Passiro vs. CookieScript

Compare scan capacity, consent records and the plan each feature requires.

Hold both to the same requirements: the pages you need to scan, the consent records you need to keep, the features you need now and the annual total of the plan you would actually choose.

The Passiro column shows Passiro’s current plans. The CookieScript column summarises CookieScript’s public pricing pages, documentation and changelogs, with the plan each feature needs; features were not tested in paid accounts.

A useful comparison starts with the same requirements

Start with your website, not a provider’s headline. Note the number of domains you manage, the number of pages you need to scan, how often you want scans and how long you need to keep and export consent records. Then compare the same requirements across providers.

A temporary trial, a permanent Free plan and a paid subscription are different offers. So are visitor allowances, page-scan limits and export windows. Check each separately before deciding whether one price is better value.

What to check with CookieScript

  • Check which plan you need for script blocking, consent recording, the API and scan capacity.
  • Scanning: Passiro Pro advertises weekly scans, while CookieScript Standard and Plus include monthly automatic scans.

What Passiro puts on the table

Passiro Free includes a cookie banner, visual editor, Google Consent Mode v2, automatic script blocking, monthly scans of up to 500 pages, consent analytics and unlimited visitors. It has no expiry date and requires no credit card.

Pro adds own branding, removes Passiro branding, increases scans to 750 pages weekly, includes two on-demand scans per month and adds IAB TCF/GPP. Business raises scanning capacity to 5,000 pages, provides eight on-demand scans per month and adds API access. The full Pricing table shows history, exports and upcoming features.

Thinking about switching?

  1. Map the existing CMP and all dependencies.

  2. Save necessary logs and configurations. No automatic import of historical consent records into Passiro is documented.

  3. Test the replacement in staging and during a controlled production switch.

  4. Remove old scripts and confirm cancellation after verifying the new setup.

Switching from CookieScript

  • Note whether your subscription has historical pricing; a new subscription may have different terms.
  • Export your Plus consent logs before you cancel.
  • Transfer categories, blocking rules, translations and regional settings.
  • Test the new CMP, then remove old scripts and templates so no duplicate consent handling is left.

A switch is an opportunity to understand the whole consent setup, not simply replace a logo. Check accept, reject, preference changes and relevant tag behaviour on the actual website.

Comparison questions

Does CookieScript charge by traffic?

Free has a limit of 10,000 pageviews a month; paid plans advertise unlimited pageviews.

Which plan records consent?

Plus. Consent recording is not part of the lower plans.

Are the old prices still valid?

Possibly for existing subscriptions that renew automatically, but not as a general price for new customers.

Does CookieScript support the current TCF?

Its changelog announces TCF 2.4 on Plus, though pricing and feature text may still show 2.3.

Is a free trial the same as a free plan?

No. A trial has a limited duration or a defined end. Passiro Free has no expiry date and does not automatically become a paid subscription.

Can I compare visitor limits with page-scan limits?

They measure different things. Visitor limits concern traffic. Scan limits concern how many pages the scanner checks. Passiro has unlimited visitors on all plans, with separate scanning allowances.

Does Passiro publish verified competitor savings?

No universal saving is claimed here. A saving depends on the actual previous subscription, the selected Passiro plan and comparable requirements.
