ABOUT PASSIRO

We believe compliance
should be free.

Cookie consent and web accessibility are legal requirements. The tools to comply should not be. Passiro makes both free for every website.

The story behind Passiro

Founded with a vision

Passiro started with a practical problem. Our founder, Bo Krogsgaard, was running multiple websites across different companies, each requiring its own compliant cookie consent setup. Multiple sites, multiple subscriptions, multiple invoices. The individual amounts were not large. But when the focus shifted to cutting unnecessary costs across the businesses, consent management stood out. Not because of the total spend, but because the pricing bore no relation to the actual cost of delivering the service. A lightweight JavaScript widget that sets a cookie and generates a consent string does not cost €25 per month to operate.

Why does something as fundamental as consent compliance cost this much? It does not. SSL certificates used to cost money too, until Let's Encrypt made them free and changed the security of the entire web. The technology was never expensive. The industry charged for it because the industry could. The same is true for consent management.

Passiro exists to change that. The cookie consent widget, including full IAB TCF v2.3 support, Google Consent Mode v2, and automatic script blocking, is free for every website, permanently. No page limits, no traffic caps, no feature restrictions. Paid plans exist for businesses that need advanced WCAG scanning across hundreds or thousands of pages, and that revenue funds the infrastructure that keeps the free tier running for everyone else. This is not a freemium trap with an asterisk. The free tier is the product.

Europe is furthest along, but the direction is global. Consent and accessibility requirements are already law in over 40 countries. The United States adds new state privacy laws every year. India, Brazil, South Korea, and Japan all regulate how websites handle personal data. The question is not whether these rules will apply everywhere. It is when. The tools to comply should be ready before the deadlines arrive, and they should not cost anything to adopt.

Passiro is based in Denmark, with all data stored in the European Union.

Our mission

Free the tools that make the web compliant.

Vision

Compliance is infrastructure. It should cost nothing.

Under the hood

Powered by the same engine used by Google, Microsoft, and the W3C.

Our scanning engine is built on axe-core — the world's most widely used accessibility testing library, trusted by governments, Fortune 500 companies, and the W3C itself. It powers accessibility testing inside Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and thousands of CI/CD pipelines.

We combine axe-core's industry-standard rule engine with a headless browser that renders your pages exactly as your visitors see them — including JavaScript-rendered content, shadow DOM components, and dynamically loaded elements.

The result is a scan that catches real issues, not false positives. And when we find something, our AI-powered fix suggestions give you actionable, CMS-specific instructions — whether you're on WordPress, Shopify, or custom code.
